An Announcement about JazzFest Denver 

Dear Fans of JazzFest Denver,

Like a number of other organizations that produce cultural events during the current economic times, The JazzFest Denver Society has been faced with the difficult decision whether to  continue to hold  its annnual JazzFest Denver, and, unfortunately, a decision has been made that it is necessary to cancel this year's festival.  

JazzFest Denver has "jazzed up" the best Denver venues featuring jazz greats:  

Bobby Watson,Wallace Roney, Eliane Elias, Joe Locke, Thomas Marriott, Ray Vega, Kurt Elling, Geoffrey Keezer, Sean Jones, Winard Harper, Marlena Shaw, Trio da Paz, Mike Longo, Karrin Allyson, Mark Sherman, Kevin Mahogany, Curtis Lundy and Terell Stafford; and local stars Brad Goode, Convergence, Ken Walker, Peter Sommer, Pat Bianchi, Neil Bridge 7 Plus, Jim White, Bob Montgomery, Lyn Baker, Big Swing Trio, Andy Weyl, Mark Diamond, Chie Imaizumi, the Mambotet, Que Mando, Ben Markley, Josh Quinlan, the CCJA student groups The Jazz Arts Messengers, The CU Jazz Combo and many other rising stars. 

JazzFest Denver has supported fine student jazz groups, such as the Colorado Conservatory for the Jazz Arts, and the CU Jazz Program through performance opportunities; and provided jazz clinics for students of all ages.  JazzFest Denver has also supported local jazz community by financial support to KUVO KVJZ radio as a business underwriter, and jazz education by financial support to the CCJA.  JazzFest Denver has also provided performance passes for underserved and disabled fans.

Last year in 2010, JFD saw a significant drop in financial support  and, unfortunately, the festival cannot be produced without such support. The organizers continue their efforts to ensure that this fine and unique jazz festival continues as an important non-profit cultural event in our community.  As the economic picture improves for cultural organizations, and with financial support from our sponsors, patrons and  ticket sales, it is our sincere belief that it will be possible to provide excellent jazz events in the future.  Stay tuned for information on future events.
