JAZZ ART POSTER DESIGN
1st Place: Claire Redman

JazzFest Combo
Claire Redman is 15 year-old freshman in the Visual Arts Department at Denver School of the Arts.
Her winning poster design was created with acrylic paint and marker. Claire doesn’t like to plan things out too much when
she works, but to let the color and media drive her inspiration and design.
Claire's art poster design was used to
create the JazzFest Denver 2010 Poster and Program Cover
2nd Place Nire Aschenbrenner

Blue City
Nire Aschenbrenner (2nd place winner) is a 15-year old sophomore in her second year in the Visual Arts Department at Denver School of the Arts. Her colored pencil design is based on the idea of music taking over the city. Nire also writes poetry and figure skates competitively.

Jazz Art Poster & T-Shirt Design Competition
JazzFest Denver involves art students from the Denver community in the creation of its art and graphics for the festival posters, tee shirts, and print media.
JazzFest Denver sponsored an art poster competition for art students at
The Denver School of the Arts during the fall.
George Sfirri, the Art Director for JazzFest Denver, coordinated the competition with the art instructor at DSA, Deb Rosenbaum. Many of the art students submitted entries which were judged by William Biety, Director of the Sandy Carson Gallery. The first place selections from the many entries will be used to create the JazzFest Denver 2009 art poster, and the JazzFest Denver 2009 T-Shirt, which will be available for sale at the festival. The art poster will also be used to create the graphics for advertising posters and other JFD print media.
JazzFest Denver would like to extend its sincere thanks to the students for their entries and to Deb Rosenbaum at DSA for her help in coordinating this year's JFD art poster competition.
